Reading Centers in Action
During the 90 minute reading block, students are involved in whole group and small group instruction as well as reading centers where they practice the skills they are learning.  The 90 minute block is broken up into 15 to 20 minute rotations that keep the children actively engaged throughout their reading time.

Get Lost in the Pages of a Book...
MCS students are honing their reading skills by enjoying books that they select for independent reading.  Research proves that time spent reading has a significant effect on  reading achievement.  When students practice reading books that are "just right" for them (not too easy, not too hard) they become not only better readers, but also develop a love for literature.  What more could we ask for?
